There are many reasons why I have a blind devotion over Consuelo Castiglioni's work for Marni.

For now I can mention the ability she has to reinvent and reinterpret classic pieces, as well as the use of materials in an unconventional way. We just need to have a look to the unfinished hemlines she makes look luxurious and elegant, which is certainly a success, as well as her ability to create minimal silhouettes with excessive luxury.
All of this can be seen in Marni, shown on its runway show for AW 2015-2016 in Milan.
She kept most of the lenghts in pieces like in Pre Fall 2015, symmetry in the dresses and coats, raw hemlines and seams, the unconventional use of fur on shoulders, neck, pockets and waist was lovely. Most of prints were floral but not in the common way other designers make use of this resource. Its floral pattern is denser, with a strong Monet vibe, dark and very beautiful.

Leather goods (handbags, backpacks, shoes, belts) were exquisite. The Marni woman is a strong individual, with character, brave enough to try the unconventional. All of this is reflected in this collection. Sigh!
