Frida Gianini's departure from Gucci kept on causing lots of speculation everywhere, No one knew what was going to happen, specially having in mind Gianini's so particular aesthetics, that made somehow Gucci's trademark for over 13 years. I was seriously thinking about Gucci being directed by one of these asian masters the industry has (seriously thinking about Thakoon and Altuzarra for instance), but there was not surprise to see current Gucci's accesories designer, Alessandro Michele being appointed to the role.

Francois Henri Pinault (Kering) is a businessman, and although Frida Giannini's designs gave a trademark to the brand (luxurious femininity), accesories stood out, and were best sellers. Let's also remember that former Gucci's CEO, Patrizio Di Marco (Frida Giannini's husband) resigned already, so it didn't make sense for Ms. Giannini to be there anymore I guess.

Another expected change was Guy Laroche's. This legendary house now has an American creative director, Adam Andrascik, replacing Marcel Marongiu.

He's a Central St. Martin graduate, and I'm sure some great things will come up with this change.

Fashion is all about cycles, and changes will continue happening.
