Milan Fashion Week AW 2015 is over. Days 5 & 6 highlights

The fashion week in Milan closes today, and I've seen so many good things to highlight. I will try to be fair and talk about all the good stuff I've seen during this week. Already talked about my favorites: Gucci, Prada, Bottega Veneta, Jil Sander, Antonio Marras, Agnona, Marni among others that you will find on previous posts.

Italian houses usually have a lot of quality in textiles and tailoring, very feminine silhouettes, traditional and conventional aspects that are not very motivating for me to see in a runway show, however the bids went very high this week during the AW 2015-2016 shows in Milan.

Fashion houses that I never follow have left me fascinated, not only because of the above elements, but most of them took a chance into design, risky design, expanding their minds, playing with patterns, print, color, silhouettes and a more global experimentation. Design houses such as Marni, Prada and Bottega Venetta have been doing it for decades, but seeing it on Giorgio Armani and Missoni shows. that have always been very traditional and stuck to their signature aesthetique has been an absolute pleasure.

Giorgio Armani's attempt to rejuvenate the brand is paying off. The tailor cuts are the signature brand of Armani, but the layering, unconventional western cuts and drapings, the use of patterns and color palette gives a sophisticated and youthful feel to this collection. Well done!

Missoni is doing something similar, and the use of their traditional prints is much more sophisticated this time, beautiful collection too.

I should also add that this latest collection of Peter Dundas for Emilio Pucci was wonderful. Much more sophisticated than usual. He closed his tenure at Pucci with a bang. Not to mention the cast, which was spectacular, but also the design of the pieces in this collection. Ethereal, romantic but not cloying, very powerful. Nice work.
