Now the Grammy Awards...

Grammy Awards is the ceremony I expect the most. Music is a perfect channelizer for creativity and a clear projector of someone's personality. That's why I love the Grammy Awards, especially when they are given based on talent.

It was the case last night. Most of my favorite nominees won, and that makes me very happy.

Starting with Best Alternative Album for St. Vincent. What a record, damn... Calle 13 also won Best Latin Rock Album with his "Multiviral", glorious Beck won Best Album with "Morning Phase", and Sam Smith won all the rest hahahahaha. Aphex Twins won Best Electronic Album category with the amazing "Syro". So happy to see awards were delivered fairly, based on talent.

Aphex Twins - Syro (Warp)
Best Electronic Album
Calle 13 - Multiviral (El Abismo)
Best Latin Rock, Urban or Alternative album

St. Vincent - St. Vincent (Loma Vista / Republic)
Best Alternative Album

Tony Bennett & Lady Gaga - Cheek to Cheek (Interscope - Columbia)
Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album

Beck - Morning Phase (Capitol Records)
Best Album of the Year

Sam Smith - In the Lonely Hour (Capitol / Method)
Record of the Year - Stay with Me
Song of the Year - Stay with Me
Best New Artist
Best Pop Vocal Album - Sam Smith - In the Lonely Hour

Presentations... there was a little of everything. I will just speak about the good things I saw.

I'll start with Hozier and Annie Lennox. She's a lady, such a sexy performance, that started with Hozier's "Take Me To Church" and ended with Ms. Lennox's hot interpretation of Creedence Clearwater Revival's "I Put a Spell on You". What a classy performance, just loved it.

Beck and Chris Martin did their thing with the amazing "Morning Phase", as well as Sam Smith and Mary J. Blige singing "Stay with Me".

I was pleasantly surprised with Lady Gaga's attitude. She's not just intelligent (getting close to Tony Bennett was the smartest thing she's done, everything he touches is gold), but really talented. Loved their version for "Cheek to Cheek"

Now Madonna... she just taught the others how to deliver great pop, I mean, she's the Queen for a reason. She's 56 already, and the show was pretty decent and had Madonna's stamp all the way. Amazing performance. That Givenchy piece was perfect for the show. Those freaking legs... a dream.

Sia... sigh! That girl Maddie Zigler with Kristen Wiig dance duo certainly made a statement. Lovely performance, although I would have loved seeing them performing "Big Girls Don't Cry" instead of "Chandelier". It was great anyway.

I know Kanye is an &%&$&, I do know that, but he's talented, and his performance with Rihanna and Sir Paul McCartney was superb.

Now to fashion... again: I hate those worst dressed lists. This Grammy Awards ceremony gave lots of material for best dressed, and I will give them the credit they deserve. Not just the Red Carpet ones, but a couple of performance pieces as well.
